Over the last century,Chinese society has undergone unprecedented changes,but one of themost significant is a fundamental shift in the essential issue of people and society.This is thetransition from traditional to modern ethical relationships.With the continued transformation of oursocial structure and traditional culture in the new era,some of the fundamental ideas and conceptscontained in rituals are gradually losing their guiding significance and permeating into modern sociallife.Although rituals played an important role in ancient times,with the passage of time and thedramatic changes in social environment,many of the basic ideas and concepts contained in rituals nolonger meet the needs of contemporary life.
