The narrative plot is an insistent motor of Cixous’feminine writing.The desire to tellstories is as intrinsic a part of her writing practice as her poetic discourse.The title of one ofthe most discursive texts Cixous has written is revealing:the first piece she wrote aboutDerrida exploring the differences between them,is an essay entitled Tales of SexualDifference.Of course,the title is highly relevant to the discussion of a sexual difference thetext contains,where Cixous reflects on the truth of sexual difference as the kind of truthderived from shared stories,an“oral narration”or“folk tale”.But she also explains in acharacteristically untranslatable play on words,that the way she feels most comfortable inapproaching the question is as a fairy tale,the narration form par excellence:“if it is a fairytale,then it is the fairy that makes the difference,the difference fairy.Yes,I realize that intalking of a fairy I am a bit less afraid”(Cixous 2010:48).Moreover we can note that thispredilection for narration is a site of greater difference between Cixous’work and Derrida’sthan her linguistic virtuosity:while Derrida’s discourse is as much as Cixous’writing thatgives place to the space without time and plays as much as hers does on the words it uses,itrarely ventures into the narration.He has little desire to tell stories.Lacan deemed it noaccident that Freud went beyond himself in Beyond the Pleasure Principle and has told that desire is sexual desire,and they believe him(Felman 1987:144).Lacan came to a“dramatic,tragic understanding that writing of roots is radically about expropriation”;his own expulsionwas symptomatic of a compulsive repression of the insight that can never come to any finalrest in a knowledge guaranteed by the self-possessed kingdom of a theory(Felman 1987:149).

Conclusion Major Findings

Cixous’feminine writing deconstructs the male discourse through multiple perspectivesand poetic metaphorical discourse in narration.This thesis goes back to the narration researchof feminine writing and explore the characteristics of deconstructive narration in femininewriting.Through demonstrating the characteristics of Cixous’deconstructive narration infeminine writing,this thesis explores her reconfiguration of feminine identity,textual spaceandŒdipal triangle and provides literary and philosophical cerebration for Cixous’femininewriting theory.
