  如何提高英语在围宣汉译英水平对中国政府或普通英语学习者使用的,并且是非常重要的。因此,本研究选择“在功能主义的角度围宣英语跨文化翻译策略”进行研究。

  1.1 Background and necessity of the study研究背景和必要性
   这项研究的必要性勿容置疑,软实力是一个国家的重要意义在现代世界。软实力包括许多成分包括文化、科技、宗教、环境和生活标准的公民,等。不同于经济和军事力量,软实力太抽象,无法测量,通常需要宣传和自我介绍在一个活跃的方式ecessity of the studyIt is beyond all doubt that soft power is of crucial significance to a country in modernworld. Soft power embraces many ingredients including culture, science and technology,religion, environment and living standard of its citizens, etc. Unlike the economic and militaryforces, soft power is too abstract to be measured and usually need to be publicized andself-introduced in an active way. For China, the Chinese government has been alwaysemphasizing the friendly and equal relationship with the rest of the world. Thanks to thereform and opening-up policy, China has greatly fastened her pace of globalization andmodernization. https://www.51lunwen.org/translation/ The English learning passion in China is the best proof of Chinese enthusiasmto communicate with other countries. After nearly 30 years of learning and using English,Chinese has no longer satisfactory with one direction “taking in” information and knowledge,and has paid much more attention to how to introduce China to the whole world and how to beoutstanding and influential to the international arena. Thus, the foreign publicity work hasbecome increasingly important to today’s China.The C-E translation of foreign publicity has a long history. But due to the post-war trauma,underdevelopment and all kinds of setbacks and failures in the way of exploring how to build anew China, researches and practices of C-English translation has fallen far behind of that ofEnglish to Chinese translation. Not until the late1970s did China have a relatively maturepolitical and economical environment for further development of its soft power, especiallyeducation. At the same time, more and more scholars and translators both in and out of Chinahave noticed the huge influences that Chinese culture have on the English language. So the C-Etranslation turns out to be more complicated than E-C translation, because the cultural factors,like an “invisible hand”, play an important role in the quality of C-E translation.In foreign publicity filed of current China, it is beyond all doubt that the members, somelarger scale settings like conversations occurring in workplaces, schools, and other variouskinds of situations, and some more specific settings including TV, radio studios, courts andconsulting rooms of the doctor etc. Therefore, the present study explores the characteristics,distribution features and pragmatic functions of supportive verbal feedbacks in English TV talkshows, by locating conversations in a specific setting---Crossover, an English quality of C-Etranslation has not only affected cross-cultural communication on the cultural level, but alsowill influence the image and benefits on the country level. The truth is that the C-E translationof foreign publicity in China is still in its infancy. Lots of people use English, but less of themare aware the foreign publicity function of it and studies on C-E translation of foreign publicityChapter One Introductionare lacking of both quantity and quality. The practice of C-E translation of foreign publicityfield is limited to government diplomacy or tourism via mass media channels.
