5.1 Features of Parameters across Levels
The first research question attempts to holistically describe the features of 20parameters under six categories. Depicted in the aforementioned analysis, the testfinds that several insignificant parameters seem to have little impact on scores of levelassessment scores. Some others, on the other hand, are identified as important factorsbecause they show significant differences across levels. Conclusion
Domestic mainstream interpreting tests have set up inconsistent interpretingassessment standards. This not only confuses test candidates, but also tarnishes thevalidity of interpreting scoring. Therefore, if we can find what linguistic parametershighly predicts interpreting assessment results, then it can be used to guide testcandidates, test scorers, interpreting educators and other related stakeholders. In lightof this, the author attempts an empirical exploration of linguistic parameters’predictability on interpreting assessment results. More specifically, she hasinvestigated two capabilities of interpreting parameters: capability of distinguishinginterpreting levels and capability of predicting interpreting level results.
