This section shows some implications to the engineering students, trying to give some feasible suggestions for them to improve their writing ability. The implications are based on the data of questionnaire analysis and interview. 

5.1.1 English Writing Learning Awareness

Based on the interview, it can be concluded that almost all the engineering students neglect English subject. “We are engineering students, there is few chances for us to use English. I am not motivated to learn English, especially the writing part.” “It is CET test forcing me learn English, and the score proportion in writing is relatively low. I just need to train my listening and reading skill more I think.” “I do not think I need to use English after graduation. I am not the kind of people who spend spare time learning a foreign language.” “All I need to focus on is my major. As an engineering student, I do not think English writing is necessary.” …said the interviewees. It is remarkable that English writing, even English, is ignored by engineering students. According to the interviewees, English writing is seldom used in the process of their professional major learning. With low position in their mind, they involuntarily ignore this course and skill. They put all their heart in profession cultivation. At the same time, low interest is also can be regarded as an important reason for them to neglect English writing.

Conclusion

By sorting out the previous study, the study explores a new theoretical framework based on the two theories, namely, the affective filter hypothesis and the self-efficacy theory. The study elaborates the status quo on English writing affective factors and English writing performance of engineering students on the basis of the instruments of questionnaires and semi-interview. In addition, available suggestions are put forward respectively.

1) Major findings of present study

English is a course with the largest number of students in colleges and universities, and it is also one of the basic courses that students attach most importance to.
