摘要:Students are the subjects of teaching in the relation between teaching and learning. All ofthe fruitful teaching has close students' active involvement. For this part, whether the students have strong learning motivation is the premise to carry out variousteaching activities.

going, keeps yougoing and determines where you are trying to go.In the field of SLA, different scholars have different views on motivation. Domyei ⑴defines L2 motivation like this:“In a general sense, motivation can be defined as the dynamically changing cumulativearousal in a person that initiates, directs, coordinates, amplifies, terminates, and evaluates thecognitive and motor processes whereby initial wishes and desires are selected, prioritized, operationalized and (successfully and unsuccessfully) acted out”.It is obvious that Dornyei''^ presents the definition of motivation from the perspectives ofcognitive. The learner's changing attitude towards the language is considered to be of greatimportance in the human behavior. Compared with other definitions, the definition is morecomprehensive and inclusive.According to Williams and Burden:“Motivation may be constructed as a state of cognitive and emotional arousal, whichleads to a conscious decision on act, and which gives rise to a period of sustained intellectualand/or physical efforts in order to attain previous set goal (or goals)”.

2.2 Classification of Motivation
The scholars at home and abroad classify motivation into different sorts according todifferent standards. According to causes, motivation consists of intrinsic motivation andextrinsic motivation. According to aims, motivation consists of integrative motivation andinstrumental motivation. According to social meaning, motivation consists of true or noblemotivation and false or low motivation. According to the length of time of motivation'sfunction, motivation consists of long-term motivation and short-term motivation. According to cognitive psychology and educational psychology, there are two types ofmotivation: intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation.Intrinsic motivation refers to the one that is experienced when one denies the externalreinforcements and acts on the enjoyment of the task at hand. People who are intrinsicallymotivated are less concerned with the difficulties of a certain task and how long it takes andwill get satisfaction in the process of learning. Edward Deci ⑶ defines intrinsic motivation as“one for which there is no apparent reward except the activity itself. People seem to engage inthe activities for their own sake and not because they lead to an extrinsic reward. Intrinsicallymotivated behaviors are aimed at bringing about certain internal rewarding consequences, namely, feelings of competence and self-determination.A student thinks of study as a pleasant enjoyment and actively joins the learning activitiesin the class mostly because the intrinsic motivation is functioning in the process. Intrinsicmotivation is a natural trend when human beings pursuit their own interests, cultivate theirown capacities and seek solutions to deal with problems. Holding intrinsic motivation, learners do not need external stimulation and punishment. Then, intrinsic motivation mainly isrelated to two points: the fun of the activities and the attitudes of the learners.
