This report aims to give an analysis of the marketing of Hilton Hotel. 2. PEST and SWOT analyses of Hilton Hotel
1. PEST analyses
PEST stands for Political, Economic, Social, and Technological (Seonghee Choa, Robert H. Woods, 2006). It is an environmental analysis that is important to an organization which is to begin the marketing process.
Political environment is the thing suitable for government do to have an impact on the economy and business (Cass Shum, 2011). The political factors affecting the business environment include development policies, tax polices, commercial tariffs, environmental laws and regulations, infrastructure, trade restrictions, trade and labour laws and so on (Walker John R., 2009). Hilton Hotel is a branch of Hilton Group Company which is located in the U.K. As the U.K. is ruled by the labour party currently who advocates that reducing government intervention in the economy. In the situation of international economic integration, Hilton Hotel is easy to expand its business to other countries. And it indeed set up hotels all over the world in more than 80 countries.
Economic environment include the inflation rate, interest rates, exchange rates and economic growth (Judy Siguaw, Russell Smith, 2010). It commonly refers to the macroeconomic factors because they will put a deep effect on the commercial environment but the organization has nothing to do with them. The world is developing quickly, not only in the developed countries, but also the developing countries. People now are not satisfied in the material life, https://www.51lunwen.org/hotelmanagement/ but the spiritual life. The tourism market is in vigorous development in recent years. Meanwhile the hospitality industry is also developing. Hilton Hotel mainly set up in the holiday paradise in Europe, America, the Asian-Pacific region, and the Middle East or Africa. It serves business and leisure tourist with highest standard of services.
Social environment is the aspect of culture, religion, and society. It may include career attitudes, health consciousness, age distribution, population growth rate, and emphasis on safety (Dean Minett, 2009). The Hilton set its hotels in the densely populated areas where people get a positive attitude towards spending a high quality holiday.
Technological environment include several aspects of technology. For example, technology incentives, R&D activity, automation, and the rate of technological change are all technological factors. These aspects can have an impact on the decision and ultimately determine the quality, cost, and innovation of the company’s product, commercial utility and service.
