Mediately calm down and think about the significant role of people and human resource department though in the drastic competing surrounding including the leadership strategies and the effective selection recruitment stratigies and other detailed things(Fisher, 2005).
3.1 People including leaders and followers
As regards for the role of people, there are two roles relatively played by the all people in an organization. They are leaders and followers according to the diffierent job characteristic(Gilley, 1989). Anyway, both leaders and followers are important for organization development because it is them to design and practice the production and sales and system structure in order to achieve the goals and values of organziation.
The leaders in an organization are a kind of designers who give the ideas and innovations for the structure construction, system designing, business strategies and recruitment planning. In some extent, they are willing to be consider the improvement of changing and revolution, but they could not expected the dominate of the organization. Because in organization, the followers are the really resource of value. Without followers, the ideas and innovations came from the leaders are nothing since they need followers to let the things going forward. As long as the help or corporation of followers, the leaders have the ability to achieve planning goals. Thus, as a successful leader, he or she should find and create the best way to organize his or her resource--people to get his or her ideas and innovations done.
Similarily, without a powerful leader, the follower is just a plate of sand which dispersed and spread widely. The leaders could give the power of integraity in the organization development. Who is the symbol for this kind of integraity is decided by the followes. For example, Winston Churchill, the prime minister of Britain, is a powerful and good leader while in the second war time, but he is denied by the people of the Britain in peacetime through a general election. It is just because his governmental strategies could not reflect the need of its followers. The position of leader is not always belonging to one person. The followers make the choice and willing to be lead by the leader. Coercion is believed not a useful leader`s tool kit. Faith and respect are the necessary balance for this kind of willingness.
Thus, spiritual leadership is now considered as some qualities about the human spirit orientaion. In the organization development, it could give well balance the followers value and the organization value. You can not be a good leader without skilled followers, and you can not have only followers without leaders. The role of leaders and followers are fully interdependent.
