摘要:本文是一篇初中英语教学论文,本研究发现:1。初中一年级学生与英语教师之间的师生关系总体上呈现出一种理想的、快乐的状态。初中一年级的学生对老师有着深厚的感情。2.初中一年级学生的总体英语学习动机处于中等水平,工具性动机强于综合性动机。3.初中一年级学生的英语学习动机与其师生关系存在相关性。整合动机和师生关系的两个正向维度存在显著的中等强度正相关。它与师生关系的两个负向维度呈显著的低强度负相关。

本文是一篇初中英语教学论文,本研究主要分析初中一年级学生学习动机与师生关系的总体状况,并探讨其相关特征。本研究采用两个问卷,选取150名初一学生作为研究对象。动机问卷采用曾丹(2009)编制的英语学习动机问卷,该问卷是根据高义红等(2003)和一些国外学者对外语学习动机的分类,通过实证研究得出的。它包括整合动机和工具动机两个维度,共17项。师生关系问卷由张磊(2003)以Pianta(1994)的师生关系量表(STRS)为参考编制,由亲密、依恋、冲突、回避和22个项目组成。

Chapter 1 Introduction


1.1 Research Background

The first reason for the author is the implication from previous researches.Previous studies show that whether students can succeed in learning or not dependsnot only on their intellectual factors but also on non-intelligent factors (such asmotivation, personality, temperament, will, belief, etc.). Therefore, in foreignlanguage teaching and research, more and more attention has been paid to learners’individual states. Among the non-intelligence factors, motivation is one of the mostimportant factors and variables (Wang Chuming, 1989). On the other hand, comparedwith other disciplines, language has a closer relationship with emotional attitudes (LuZiwen, 2010). Arnold (1999) divides the emotional factors in foreign languageeducation into two categories: one is the learner's individual factors, including anxiety,personality, motivation, etc.; the other is the emotional factors between learners andteachers, including empathy, Classroom communication, etc. Krashen (1985)proposes that the second language learning performance is affected by emotion in hisaffective filter hypothesis. Typically, learners with less anxiety, relaxed mood, and ina comfortable learning environment tend to learn better. The teacher-studentrelationship is one of the critical factors affecting students' emotion and attitude.

1.2 Research Purpose

For the purpose, the author thinks that a good relationship between teachers andstudents is the necessary guarantee for the success of various educational activitiesand the necessary conditions for the implementation of quality education. At the sametime, it can also help students maintain a good learning attitude and learning emotionin the process of English learning. Suppose the relationship between teachers andstudents will have an impact on junior high school students' English learningmotivation. In that case, the establishment of a good and comfortable teacher-studentrelationship will contribute to change students’ negative learning attitude, ease theirmaladjustment and anxiety in English learning.

This study takes the first-grade students of two public junior high schools inShenzhen city as the research objects, aiming to investigate the current situation of therelationship between first-year junior high school students and their English teachers,the situation of English learning motivation of them through questionnaire survey, andto analyze whether there is a correlation between the two by the Statistical Packagefor Social Science(SPSS).

Teacher-student relationship, an indispensable part of education, is regarded tohave a particular effect on students at school. Researchers at home and abroad arepaying much attention to the exploration of the definition and classification ofteacher-student relationships.
