4.1 Questionnaire One
Questionnaire one (See Appendix 1 for detailed information) is made up of 9items and is designed with the purpose of knowing what the present situation of theEFL reading is like in liie classes where the action research is to be carried out. Thisquestionnaire consists of altogether nine items. In the first seven items, the studentscan choose from the given choices and the last two items are open-ended questions.The researcher divided the first questionnaire into 4 parts according to its content.60 students answered the questions in Questionnaire one. From the above,it's natural to get the conclusion that it's beneficial to engage thereaders in an activity (which is also called the leading-in) that gets them thinkingabout what they already know about the topic of the reading.
