摘要:本文是一篇初中英语论文研究,笔者通过对132篇初中生作文的分析,探讨了这些问题。本研究旨在了解初中生在任务型写作中的笔误意识。根据学生在前测和后测中的表现,以及问卷和访谈的结果对结果进行分析。此外,作者还试图探讨在初中写作教学中是否有必要开展笔误意识的提高活动。

Chapter 1 Introduction

1.1 Research Background

Nowadays, writing, a basic language skill, is receiving more and more attention. On the one hand, as a productive skill, writing can reflect what students learn from teachers and materials. Teachers can make adjustments to their teaching methods and help students overcome difficulties. On the other hand, as a communicative medium, writing  serves  as  a  bridge  between  people.  For  example,  teachers  can  know  about students’ attitudes and feelings according to their writing and give feedback to them immediately. Besides, students can also write to each other to express congratulations.

Through more than four years of teaching at a junior high school, the author finds that students are not good at writing, even if they have learned some vocabulary and semantic  rules.  They  are  unable  to  turn  the  receptive  knowledge  into  productive capacity, and therefore they can’t use what they have learned to express ideas freely. Some students can’t spell words correctly or use them properly. Some students just know  a  few  words,  but  they  can’t  follow  semantic  rules  when  they  put  the  words together. Other students ignore the structures of sentences, making readers unable to understand  the  meaning  of  them  at  all.  In  addition,  they  don’t  know  how  to  learn English through reading English works, watching English movies or listening to music. Various language problems make students find it difficult to write compositions, which lead to fear of writing. 

1.2 Research Significance

Experts and scholars are interested in  slip-of-the-tongue in  that they think the broken-down language may be more revealing than the one that is working perfectly (Aitchison 2011). Slip-of-the-tongue is a deviation from what the speaker had in mind to express. As for its definition, classification and causes, psychologists, linguists as well as psycholinguists  like Meringer, Freud and Fromkin,  etc., may hold different opinions.  

Modern research on slip-of-the-tongue began with nearly 10,000 German verbal errors collected by Meringer in 1890. The boom in the study of slip-of-the-tongue was in the 1960s and 1970s. The related scientific analysis reemerged with an article written by Fromkin (1971) which explored the way speech errors may be caused when people constructed linguistic arguments. We know that slip-of-the-tongue is closely connected to language production. Therefore, when slip-of-the-tongue occurs, there is something wrong with the language production process.

With the emergence of new linguistic methods and theories, speech error research is paid more attention and the subjects turn to groups like children, sign language users, and even animals (Erard 2007).
