Observation and Assessment in Early Childhood Education

 

Executive summary
Good early childhood education is very important for everyone. In this report, it was through observing student activity of ten hours in Early Childhood Center, Concordia University, Kindergarten classroom to find that the physical environment and the teachers’ curriculum were more reasonable, which could help children to be actively involved in classroom teaching. According to the interview with these teachers it can be found that, the teachers adopted Bloom’s https://www.51lunwen.org/ygjylw/2012/0413/1145506504.html taxonomy of educational objectives in assessment process towards these children, which could help children to achieve a comprehensive development in three aspects: knowledge, ability, attitude. When teacher and parents, other teachers and administrators exchange assessment information of children, it should emphasize the comprehensive and objective reflection of children’s study achievement, which is helpful for providing reference for future development of correct early childhood education plan and improvement measures.

Introduction
Early childhood education is one of an important and special stage of a person’s education and development. It is one of the cornerstone periods of a person’s development, the basic characteristics of many important ability, personality are formed in this period.  This is the transition period when children’s physical and mental development is changed from an initial indefinite form into a basic definite form, then they can start study according to social demand to acquire development (Heston, et al., 1998). Therefore, a good early childhood education is very important for everyone. The report was through observing student activity of 10 hours in Early Childhood Center, https://www.51lunwen.org/education/ Concordia University, Kindergarten classroom to describe the following aspects: the physical environment, student activity, kinds of assessments, how the assessment results are communicated to other teachers, administrators and parents. At the end of this report, it evaluated the observed contents.
