4. Results and Discussion 

4.1 Result of Tests 

The  results  of  the  experiment  are  used  to  answer  questions  raised  before  the experiment.Is  process-focused  approach  helpful  in  improving  the  students’writing  ability towards  writing?Is  process-focused  approach  effective  in  improving  students’awareness  of editing, enhancing the awareness of cooperation and the interest in writing? Is the strategy of peer-editing  helpful  in  improving  the  students’writing  ability?  The  author  will  answer  the questions above according to the students’writing and questionnaire.In order to know whether there is a significant difference in the overall writing level of the  students  in  the  two  classes,  to  make  the  study  a  certain  effectiveness,  the  author conducted writing diagnostic testing in early September before the experiment. Writing task title  was   a  letter  for  help.  (A  total  of  25)  (See  Appendix  2  for  details),  which  should  be completed in 25 minutes. The aim was to test the coherence between the two classes to make sure the accuracy of the experiment.The students composed and corrected their writing alone. When the test was finished, the writing were handed in and scored by the teachers. They gave analytic  grades  on  content,  organization  and  language  errors,  etc.  The  grades  were  put  into computer, and descriptive statistics were used to analyze the grades in details. The Table 4.1 described the result of the experimental class in the pre-test. Num refers to the number of the students in the experimental class and the mean refers to the average score of the writing part.

In  order  to  save  time,  students  should  be  grouped  at  the  beginning  of  the  term.   In  the process-focused approach of writing teaching, teachers are critical to the success or failure of writing activities.
