摘要:本文是一篇高中英语教学论文,本研究以高考英语听说测试为背景,通过问卷调查、有声思维方案和访谈等方法,调查了高中生英语听说策略的总体情况。

本文是一篇高中英语教学论文,本研究发现,学生可以在听说中使用多种策略,不同语言水平和性别的学生使用的策略数量和频率不同;最频繁的策略是补偿策略,最少的策略是情感策略。

Chapter 1 Introduction

1.1 Background of the research

In 2017,some provinces or cities have implemented the reform of thesocialized college entrance examination in English,including“two English tests in ayear”and English“listening and speaking test”,which indicates that this is the end of“Mute English”era,and the focus of written test has shifted into the comprehensivelanguage competence,fitting in the times and students’needs.Incorporating listening,speaking,reading and writing into the assessment system,it much emphasizes thecomprehensive use of language ability,further reflecting the focus of propositionalguiding ideology that shifts from basic language knowledge and language skills tolanguage use in the vivid communication context(Hou,2017).Although it was thefirst time that Guangdong Province has implemented a socialized college entranceexamination in 2021,“college entrance examination listening and speaking test hasbeen given in Guangdong Province and the results will be included in the collegeentrance examination final grade since 2011.However,due to lacking an authenticlanguage learning environment,English“listening and speaking”teaching has been aneglected problem in the past,let alone guiding students to conduct listening andspeaking strategy training.Furthermore,the Standard of English Curriculum inOrdinary Junior High School(2017)puts forward that English subjects shouldcomprehensively cultivate students’English core competencies of language ability,cultural consciousness,thinking quality and learning ability;in the learning process,learners need to apply a variety of learning strategies to improve the effect ofunderstanding and expression.It can be seen that modern education pays moreattention to the students’self-learning ability and learning strategies.Therefore,underthe background of the listening and speaking test in the college entrance examinationand the new curriculum standard,it is very necessary to investigate and get the picture of strategy use of senior high school students in listening and speaking and then findthe problems in listening and speaking strategy uses and instruction process,and togive some suggestions.

1.2 Objectives and significance of the study

Basing on the background of listening and speaking test in the college entranceexamination,constructive theory,English learning strategy theory as well,this studyinvestigates the overall use of English listening and speaking strategies by high schoolstudents through surveys,interviews and thinking-aloud protocol,to understand theoverall situation of high school students’listening and speaking strategies,andanalyze the reasons for this difference and effectiveness on the strategy use,varyingfrom different sex to different language level.Lastly,this study tries to find out theproblems of English listening and speaking strategies use among high school studentsand provide high school students and teachers with effective advice on listening andspeaking strategies.
