摘要:本文是一篇英语论文格式,作者总结了基于绩效评估的语法评估的一些教学启示,并为教师改进语法ITLA提供了一些切实可行的建议。首先,在设计带有绩效评估的教学计划方面,应该根据课程标准和学生的实际、真实表现来制定。

z who was the co-founder of Envision Education, successful students should be excellent at knowing, doing, and reflecting (Lenz, 2020). “Pencil-and-paper test” can test how well learners know, but how about doing and reflecting? As mentioned above, performance assessment is a learning-oriented assessment, which provides teachers and students with evidence of learning and feedback information to plan, monitor, assess, reflect and adjust the process of teaching and learning. Here, the studies of performance assessment will be introduced. 

2.2.1 Definition of Performance Assessment

Performance assessment, which is also called “performance-based assessment”, emphasizes the situational authenticity of assessment. As for the definition of performance assessment, there has been no agreed definition until now. Different researchers hold different opinions. 

Fitzpatrick & Morrison (1971) are the earliest scholars to define performance assessment. According to him, it refers to assessing Ss’ ability to accomplish something in some authentic situation. 

Stiggins and Winggins are the most influential experts in studying performance assessment. They embrace that performance assessment is a series of attempts for measurement that is based on a teacher’s observation and judgment. It is to evaluate how well Ss apply skills and knowledge when they are solving a new problem or finishing a performance task (Wiggins, G., & McTighe, J., 2017).

In this section, in order to see the changes in the students’ grammatical competence reflected in their grammar performance, the author uses the software SPSS 26.0 to analyze the data from two writing tests and three writing products. And the results will be discussed to answer the first question, “What is the effect of performance assessment on improving students’ grammatical competence?” The results are as follows:
