2.1.1 Definition of grammar

For a long time,different scholars have different understandings andinterpretations of grammar due to their different research directions.Young(1984)holds that grammar is the systematic rules that constitute a language.Harmer(1987)believed that grammar is the changes of words themselves and the way words arecombined into sentences,including the changes of grammar and orders of the wordswhen two clauses are combined into one sentence.Penny(2009)talked about theconcept of grammar,which can be loosely defined as the way a language arrangeswords(or strings of words)into longer semantic units.In these definitions,thesyntax is considered to be a static language form.

Dr.Larsen Freeman(2005)regarded grammar as a dynamic process and calledgrammar the fifth language skill,which she called grammaring.Dr Freeman arguesthat grammar should be thought of not as a set of static rules but as a skill to bedeveloped in parallel with listening,speaking,reading and writing.She believes thatthe aim of grammar teaching is to develop students'ability to use grammaticalstructures accurately,meaningfully and appropriately.These skills are acquiredthrough a lot of practice and use.Grammar,in her view,consists of three aspects:form,meaning and pragmatics.

2.2 Research on STA

2.2.1 Definition of STA

Situations can be subdivided into many categories,and different fields understand and describe situations differently.Thomas(1951)put forward theconcept of the definition of situations from the sociological perspective.He believedthat the situations lie between the objective environment and behavioral reaction,and the process of people's interactions is their reaction to the objective environment,which is caused by the situations.In the Concise Dictionary of Psychology,YangQing(1985)put forward that situation is a direct stimulus to human beings and aspecific environment with certain biological and sociological significance.Contextplays a specific role in arousing some human emotions.Constructivism holds thatthe generalized context refers to any objective environment that can stimulatelearners to produce psychological changes.The narrow sense context refers to theteaching environment and process that can make students have positive learningemotion.David H.Smith is a leading expert on instructional design in the UnitedStates.In his book the Theoretical Basis of Learning Environment,Jonathan(2002)put forward that context is a medium to help students connect book knowledge withlife experience,and it can promote students to understand and digest knowledge.

Although scholars in various fields have different definitions of the situation,they have the same understanding of the connotation of situations.From theperspective of education and teaching,teaching situation refers to the specificteaching environment which can arouse students'learning emotion according to theiractual life experience.The teaching situation emphasizes emotion,which affirms theimportant role of the emotion,attitude and value of the participants inteaching.Environment refers to the teaching environment where students are located,which covers all kinds of hardware facilities(teaching building,teaching equipment,etc.)and software facilities(teaching staff,teaching means,management means,school style of study,external environment,etc.)of the whole school.All teachingactiviti论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
