摘要:本文是一篇初中英语教学论文,笔者通过分析学生写作中出现的错误,教师能够精准把握学生的学习难点,并及时给予学生恰当且有针对性的反馈。
However, there is no unified definition of errors among scholars yet becausedifferent criteria lead to various definitions. The first linguistic term for error was putforward by Coder,an American linguist,in 1967 when he studied the theory of erroranalysis. He defines errors as deviations from language rules that occur when learnersdo not master the knowledge system of the language they are learning. And Corder(1974,p259)makes a distinction between the concepts of error and mistake, inspiredby Chomsky who distinguished what learners know of knowledge from how they usethem in communication. He argues that error comes from the failure of learners'language ability, while mistake has nothing to do with learners'language ability. It isrelated to learners'poor language performance, such as carelessness and distraction. What’s more, errors are not self-correcting,but learners are able to correct mistakesbased on their own language knowledge.Dulay,Burt&Krashen(1982)defined errorsas some errors occur in usage due to learners'low level of target language.Richards(1985)states that advanced users or native speakers of a language consider deviationsin terms, grammatical items, and speech acts that arise in the oral and written usage of second or foreign language learners as errors.Hu Zhuanglin,Liu Runqing and LiYanfu(1988)point out that error usually refers to incorrect understanding or use ofthe target language in grammar or pragmatics.James(1998)attributes errors to thefailed parts of language expression.Rod Ellis(2016)mentions that errors occur whendeviations occur due to lack of knowledge.
2.2 Theoretical Basis
2.2.1 Interlanguage Theory
Interlanguage theory was proposed by American linguist Selinker in 1969.Theso-called interlanguage refers to the transition language constructed by the secondlanguage learners between the mother tongue and the target language. It is in theprocess of continuous development and change, gradually approaching the targetlanguage.Selinker(1972)believes that interlanguage has three characteristics, namelypermeability, dynamic and systematic. The errors made by learners in the process ofsecond language acquisition are inevitable, which are accompanied by the wholeprocess of interlanguage.Selinker(1972)analyzed the causes of interlanguage errorsfrom the perspective of cognition. They are interlingual induction, intralingual induction, the influence of teachers'teaching methods and textbooks, the learners ownlearning strategies and communication strategies.
Interlingual induction includes positive transfer of mother tongue and negativetransfer of mother tongue.Negative transfer of mother tongue is the main factoraffecting interlingual errors. In the process of English writing, second languagelearners will be influenced by the language they are most familiar with, and replacethe language rules of the target language with the language rules of the mother tongue, resulting in many interlanguage errors.
