本文是一篇商务论文,本报告的目的是描述口译员的远程连续口译服务。这些服务是为完成教育博士课程设计和开发的客户提供的。在语言学家的帮助下,通过在线连续口译,口译员和客户利用laptop和其他设备以及TencentMeeting在疫情期间促进沟通。

Chapter One Task Description

1.1 Background

2021 was the year of the Covid-19 pandemic,and all walks of life wereaffected due to this widespread virus.Additionally,the Language Service Industry isno exception.Traditionally,interpreters meet clients in person and provide on-siteinterpreting services while technology removes space limits.This is why people canstill communicate across the border to do their work when the pandemic is makingtravel difficult.As such,online interpreting comes into being.Online interpretingrefers to using communication technologies to access an interpreter in another room,building,town,city,or country.In this setting,a telephone line or video conferencelink is used to connect the interpreter to the primary participants,who are together atone site.In order to support international communication,online interpretinglanguage services are a flexible and effective solution.The author was offered anopportunity to provide consecutive interpreting services for Baguio University in thePhilippines.She assisted the lecturers in successfully completing the Doctor ofEducation Program in July and August 2021.The cases to be discussed in this reportare based on the author’s third-week interpreting practice,in which she assisted Dr.Antonio D.Mangaliag in finishing the Course Design and Development lecture.

1.2 About the Task

During the pandemic,this online interpreting task was ongoing from July toAugust 2021.The author selected one of the third week’s interpreting tasks on theCourse Design and Development lecture by Dr.Anonio from Baguio University inthe Philippines for study.This lecture lasted 101 minutes and mainly guided by thespeaker.Dr.Mangaliag usually spoke for two or three minutes before pausing,andthen the interpreter interpreted his words.The speaker would ask participants toanswer questions in the chat box during the class interaction.Also,Q&A is part ofthe lecture.

1.2.1 Task Objectives

Educational interpreting requires interpreters to process language quickly andaccurately and support the academic goals and outcomes designed by professors.Educational interpreters are essential members of the teaching process,withthe responsibility to help and maximize learning.In this task,the interpreter playsthe bridge role in helping the professor give lectures smoothly and removecommunication barriers in classroom interactions.This task should also focus onfaithfully interpreting and keeping participants focused on the lecture.

Chapter Two Interpreting

2.1 Pre-Interpreting Preparation

As Alikina and Shvetsova(2011:95)mentioned,“even professional interpreterswith rich experience and an excellent reputation often face difficulties,not onlywhen translating or interpreting specialized,technical messages,but also whentranslating or interpreting relatively simple speeches on general topics.”The mainreason for these issues is a lack of proper preparation.According to Choi,advancedpreparation is essential for interpreters,as it affects the quality of translation.Preparation for interpretation is of the utmost importance.Interpreters need to gainspecific background knowledge quick论文英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写英语论文代写代写论文代写英语论文代写留学生论文代写英文论文留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
