Besides, the great work Hamlet is recognized as the lighthouse of English literature and  has  a  high  position,  and  its  literary  nature  is  obviously  henceforth.  Also,  in China the most famous translators of Shakespeare should be Zhu Shenghao and Bian Zhilin  for  their  works  have  been  discussing  and  comparing  for  a  long  history,  and both  of  their  translations  are  fine  work  and  suggestive  for  latter  translators.  Apart from  what  has  been  mentioned  above,  cognitive  poetics  is  always  regarded  as  the most powerful theory in the literary studies and poetic iconicity is beneficial for the readers to interpret the text more easily and recur the real feeling of the author (Jiang Renlong, 2013: 2). If it were applied to the literary translation, the literary elements of that will tell us more about the translation in literary texts, which will be helpful to the translator understand the original text and do well in related translation. Just as Li Bingmei (2011:8) says that the literature‘s translation should also be literary, then, to  achieve  this  target,  the  poetic  iconicity  is  going  to  be  applied  to  evaluate  the literary  natures  of  texts,  both  the  source  text  and  target  texts  will  manifest  their strengths, which is why the writer do this research by the poetic iconicity. 

Chapter Two    Literature Review

2.1 The Translation of Hamlet

Hamlet has been introduced to China over a century, and many scholars studied it in various ways, among which the translation is a never ceased issue, and it already became  a  worldwide  focus  attracting  scholars  to  do  that  work  generation  after generation.  In  China,  Wang  Rui  (2015:  93)  classified  the  translations  of  Hamlet  as four stages according to different translating styles, and she said there are four types: the  classical  Chinese,  prose,  poems  and  investigative  translation.  Jin  Jing  and  Zhu Jianping  (2016:43)  also  recognized  the  translation  of  Hamlet  as  six  periods according  to  the  development  of  its  translation.  The  first  appearance  of Shakespeare‘s drama in China was in 1903 when it was translated by Charles Lamb and  Mary  Lamb,  a  year  later,  Lin  Shu  and  Wei  Yi  re-translated  it  based  on  the Charles Lamb and Mary Lamb‘s version (Wang Rui, 2015: 93).
