摘要:全球化的不断发展,英语已成为使用最广泛的跨文化交际和世界贸易世界用得上的。在此背景下,全球兴起的英语学习热。英语作为一门必修课,姬设置在三年级,大学终止。

extroverts and introvertsshow any difference? If they do, what these differences are?Question 2: Are there correlations between extroversion/introversion and theemployments of metacognitive strategies? If there are, which kinds of these correlationsare, positive or negative, strong or weak? And which significant levels these correlationswill be at?Question 3; What implications and suggestions can this study offer to improvefurther researches and non-English-major students' English learning achievements inChina?Five chapters are totally involved to discuss the above-mentioned researchquestions.Chapter one is a general introduction of this thesis. It consists of backgroundinformation of English learning situation in current China and relevant problemsaccompanying with college students' English learning. Furthermore, research questionsand objectives proposed in this study are added to provide a clear picture of what thisthesis is going to solve.Chapter two gives a comprehensive literature review on the previous studies onpersonality types, and metacognitive strategies uses. The objectives of this chapter areto conclude what have been studied and to make clear what will be explored in thisthesis to bridge the gaps between different researches.Chapter three depicts subjects, instruments, and research questionnaires adopted toidentify extroversion and introversion and the preferences in using metacognitivestrategies. This chapter is mainly about research methodologies which are theprerequisite for analyzing raw data in chapter four.As the core chapter, chapter four mainly centers on analyzing those resultscollected in this survey by processing raw data in SPSS 16.0. Here, Independent SampleT Test will be analyzed to explore significant levels of different metacognitive strategiesused by extroverts and introverts. Pearson Correlation Analysis will also be adopted toexplore the correlations between extroversion/introversion and metacognitive strategiesuses. Finally, results drawn from these analyses will be discussed and possible reasonsaffecting these correlations.Finally, it comes to chapter five. As the last part of this thesis, chapter five willconclude major research findings and explore both implications and limitations of thissurvey by aiming to provide recommendations for further researches of this field as wellas to give some tentative suggestions on improving current college English learning inChina.
