1  Literary  Language  as  the  Presence  of  Fictionality  of  Philosophy  of Transgression

1.1 Foucauldian Understanding of Literary Language

Language  is  universally  acknowledged  that  it  tightly  connects  to  the  world  within  the whole  philosophy  history,  mostly  taking  as  a  tool  for  the  reflection  of  self-experience  with humanism, while language is also regarded as the core of the meaning construction. Language actually always takes up the essence of literature and literary criticism, no matter for humanist critics or anti-humanist critics. In that age, “an aesthetic activity, a release, so to speak, om the tyranny of  time  and  history”  (Said  1975:  323),  therefore,  an  intellectual  movement  appears.  During the discussion on transgression, Foucault also emphasizes that it is a must to find a language for transgression, accordingly, he rejects the traditional dialectic philosophical language and turns  into  literary  language.  Though  there  are  plenty  of  language  theories  among  studies  on literary criticism, it attaches vital important to explicate specific views during specific periods, especially Foucault’s view on language related to his philosophy.  

Before  constructionism  and  formalism,  language  cannot  be  regarded  as  a  sort  of demystification  in  literature  and  literary  criticism.  Apparently,  in  romanticism,  language  as the  approach  to  express  meanings  contains  the  authority  of  elitism,  for  the  thoughts  that poetry contains an animate core with the Holy Spirit. When it comes to constructionism, the worship of meaning turns to the worship of language and its deep structure.
