Conclusion


Despite of having achieved the goal of developing college students' Englishvocabulary learning abilities and improving the vocabulary teaching practice, this actionresearch project failed to accomplish the following expectations.First of all, this AR project tried to cover too big a topic as English vocabularylearning within limited time. Many of the teaching methods and learning strategiesemployed in the action research were only introduced in general terms, and weren't givenenough detailed explanation. Thus,the author hopes to conduct an AR project in the nearfuture regarding the application of a certain vocabulary learning strategy in college Englishclassroom.
In addition, the author only conducted one round of action research due to the timelimit, thus didn't fully finish the reflective cycle. The author plans to conduct two roundsof action research regarding English vocabulary teaching in the future studies.Twelve weeks turned out to be a short duration, the author didn't fully accomplish her original expectations, which left some regrets. However, this action research project issuccessful to some extent, as it finished the action plan and achieved the main objective toimprove students' vocabulary learning abilities. The author will continue to carry out actionresearch on vocabulary teaching in her future teaching career and hopes to further developthe vocabulary teaching practice in EFL classroom in China's colleges.
