Although all theheadlines are similar in the use of present tense, ellipsis, and short powerful words,the English natives prefer to provide readers more detailed and concrete informationto make their headlines longer than that composed by the Chinese. The natives alsotend to use some dynamic words and different figures of speech to make theirheadlines more vivid. As for the leads, Chinese journalists have a higher frequency toemploy general leads and pay more attention to the whole or the general items whilethe native English speakers prefer using specific leads and provide more details at thebeginning of the news. It also has different methods to write the body, however, thesample reports in the thesis all employ the inverted pyramid writing style to revealreaders the most significant information at the beginning.Lastly, when comparing the contextual factors, it can be seen that the field andmode of discourse in the thesis are quite similar, since the sample reports of samesubjects are selected from the similar state-level high-quality news media with thesimilar target readers. It can account for the reason why they bear some stylisticsimilarities, such as a heavy use of formal and specialized words, longfully-developed sentences, standard grammatical conventions, diverse punctuations,vivid pictures and the inverted pyramid writing form. However when it comes to thetenor of discourse, conspicuous differences have been found on the nature of thejournalists. The Chinese journalists, as ESL/EFL learners, are different form theEnglish natives on the parts of linguistic competence, cultural backgrounds, and waysof thinking. It leads to the Chinese lacking of great creativity and proficiency towardthe language of English, and often influenced by their traditional thinking patterns.These can well explain the reasons why there exist many differences on the stylisticfeatures of English business news composed by the Chinese and nativeEnglish-speaking journalists.

　　5.2 Limitation and Suggestions
　　Some limitation must be pointed out about the thesis. Above all, only 20 piecesof news reports from five news media are selected as research samples to make thestudy more feasible. The stylistic features of the sample news reports may not beconvincing enough to represent the general features of English business newscomposed by the Chinese and English natives. In addition, only limit stylistic levelsare chosen to compare and investigate, while writing style is too broad to becompletely covered. Lastly, the reasons for the similarities and differences affectingthe writing style are complex, the thesis just explore the most possible ones for theconvenience of study.Considering the limitations, there is still large room for further study. Morenews reports should be selected as research samples and more aspects of writingstyles should be taken into consideration and compared, in a bid to shed light on thestylistic features of English news composed by the Chinese and English natives, thedevelopment of Chinglish and the EFL teaching in China.
