4.1 Addition
Addition refers to adding certain words,sentences or paragraphs according to thelexical,syntactic,semantic,rhetorical or stylistic needs of the target language in orderto better express the thought and content in source text(Xiong,2014:84).Differencesin Chinese-English syntactic structure require interpreters to use addition flexibly(Zhong,2009:207).According to the Interpretive Theory,interpretation is to interpretthe meaning.It is not only to achieve word-for-word correspondence.At the sametime,Yan Fu believes that in order to achieve the purpose of the original text,interpreters can re-express with their own words by various methods.This conveysthe same meaning with the Interpretive Theory.Therefore,in the following specificcases,in order to convey the meaning of the source language more clearly,theinterpreter uses addition.
4.1.1 Sentences with Omitted Information
There are many sentences with omitted information in both Chinese and English.These sentences are used in the specific context or concrete communicativeconditions in which the repeated or contained information are omitted to make the communication easier(Wang,1994).There are many videos of interviews in thedocumentary.And speakers sometimes omits information because people in theconversation can understand the meaning omitted in the sentence because of thecontext.While the interpreter needs to convey the omitted part by adding theinformation,which can make the interpretation understandable for the listener.

The interpreter benefits a lot from this simulated simultaneous interpretationpractice.
