摘要:本文基于中国英语学习者语料库和英国国家语料库对Take,Spend,Pay,Cost四个近义词语从搭配、类联接形式、语义韵方面分别进行描述,从大量语料中得到四个词语的真实使用情况并提出相应教学建议。

at the meaning of a word and the situation it employs are closely interrelated with each other.Many researchers as well as Sinclair(Louw,1993;Stubbs, 1995;Partington,1998;Wei,2002,2006)study semantic prosody in a variety of ways.
According to their studies,it shows that some words have a tendency to co-occur repeatedly and habitually with items that have positive,negative,or neutral features.Hence,semantic prosody plays an important role in joining words together.It can make these words mean different from their literal meaning when these words are used in communication.We can know the semantic and pragmatic function of the words.While it is an important linguistic phenomenon,semantic prosody was not seriously treated until 20 years ago.The native speakers often subconsciously employ semantic prosody features,because the items of semantic prosody are deep into the mind of native speakers.
Moreover,there are not many studies about semantic prosody in China.These studies are just at the primary stage.The concept of semantic prosody was first introduced to China by Ji and Wu in 2000.Other researchers also raise their views about semantic prosody in their respective papers(Pan&Feng,2003; Wang&Zhang,2005; Zhang&Liu,2005,2006; Wei,2002a,2002b,2006).In addition, we hope that there will be some M.A theses about semantic prosody with exact data that are extracted from different corpora.However,these theses are still at the primary stage. They are just the brief introductions of subjects,theoretical frame,research approach,and implications of teaching,learning,and translation of L2.Moreover,only a few theses make a further study of the semantic prosody features between English L2 learners and native speakers.Thus,there is much room for the study of semantic prosody.
