When your team members speak to you about all their work related worries, hear them out. You could convey empathy, suggest alternatives and create harmony within the team.


Take complete responsibility for how you are heard. Always rephrase your message to make it sound positive. Effective communication is a fine art.


An integral part of developing leadership skills is to learn to respect your team’s capabilities. Let the team members take decisions on certain issues. Trust them with their work; don’t be a watchdog.


All members of the team must believe in Leaders integrity, and that the really mean what the leader say.

Distribute tasks among group members depending on the situation and individual strengths. You become a better leader by involving more people in the leadership process.


Your prime responsibility is to ensure success and development of the team. Focus on building and strengthening the team member’s skills as this will enhance motivation and team performance. Remember, the team’s success is Leader’s Success.


Recruitment and Selection Amendments


When there is a need to select a person for a specific task/job, it is very essential to recruit the right person for the right job. The leaders, in this regard, create a pool of the candidates and select the best suited one.

The lager number of available members, the better the leaders chance for finding an individual who is best suited to the job requirements.


There can also be some constraints on recruiting efforts like:
Internal Organizational policies: such a “promote from within wherever possible.”

External Factors: government influences, industry regulators, trade unions.


Monitoring and evaluating


Once the leaders assign the role then the next step is to monitoring, controlling and evaluating the performance of the followers and if necessary they also provide the feedback. Leaders can monitor and evaluate the performance through various ways. 


What change would make the single biggest difference to your workplace? Some of the following examples of organisational improvements may apply to the organisation, or there might be other ones that are important the team to function at their best:
reducing waste
increasing profit

improving production


How is the team performing now compared with where you would like to be? There should a predefined basis to work from and then measure progress towards the goal. On the other side we can say to fill the gap between actual and expected performance.
