  sophisticated  reviser  can  make  his  revision procedure and revision specifications based on the degree of importance, the use, the readers and other elements of the text. They know what kinds of parameters they need to check, and what types of errors can be ignored. They can minimize unnecessary changes as well as time consumed.  This  requires  the  accumulation  of  knowledge  and  experience.  Compared  with translation  training,  the  author  has  less  revision  training,  so  as  a  new  reviser,  she  often  felt confused during the practice, but she still learnt a lot.

In this project, all the team members were required to follow the style guide provided by the company. The guide contains a variety of specifications, and is helpful. As the project was to translate the user guide of the localized YiCAT platform, the author needed to refer to the localized English platform while revision because there were a large number of names of tabs, buttons and icons in the source text and the translation of these names should be in line with those on the English platform. If the translators translate those names in their way, the users might be confused and cannot find the tab or the button. The author’s previous experience of using  YiCAT  platform  helped  her  while  revising  the  translation.  It  gave  her  a  better understanding  of  the  text.  Besides,  the  author  used  the  YiCAT  platform  according  to  the in structions of the user guide while revising, which helped her to detect errors in the source text.
