A total of 215 news articles are selected as research corpus in this study,among which,81791 tokens and 6927 types are identified.In this paper,the corpus software AntConc(version 4.1.4)is used for language analysis from three aspects:high-frequency content wordslist,concordance lines and collocation word list.

5.1.1 High-frequency content words

Based on 215 news corpora analyzed by the corpus analysis tool AntConc(version 4.1.4),each company builds a sub-corpus and retrieves high-frequency content words respectively,asshown in the following tables.

6.1 Summary of major findings

This study builds its own corpus and uses AntConc to quantitatively analyze thehigh-frequency content words,concordances and related collocations in news discourse.Thestudy then analyzes the process of identity construction by energy companies through newsdiscourse according to the analytical framework of this study,starting from themeso-discursive strategies to study how companies use these discursive strategies to constructtheir identities,and then extrapolating from the macro-level corporate identity construction toits corresponding micro-linguistic means.This analytical framework and theoreticalperspective place energy companies in the changing social and historical background andexamine the process of corporate identity construction in a multi-dimensional way.This studyhas important implications for the transformation and development of energy companies inChina and for external communication.
