4.1 Problem Analysis

Three kinds of interpretational mistakes: misinterpreting, lack of cohesion and information loss occurredin the interpreting process. Here are some of the corresponding strategies that could contribute to solving these problems under the guidance of theSkopostheory.

4.1.1 Misinterpretation

Due to the different sentence patterns between Chinese and English, the vaguenessof the source text, and the ambiguous pronoun references, misinterpretation becomes one of the biggest problems in the interpreting process that hinders the audience from grasping the central idea of the topic. Three of the typical cases are shown as follows:
