To some extent, the currentcourse design of BE in SWUFE can satisfy most BE majors' needs forlanguage skills, professional BE knowledge and practical BE skills in terms oftheir career designs. And they are satisfied with the overall course design ofBE on balance, although most BE majors are not interested in courses in themodule of Courses for General Knowledge. They show strong satisfactionwith courses in the module of Basic English Courses, Specialized Courses(Compulsory) and Specialized Optional Courses. However，they still call forfurther adjustment to the proportion of course modules in the current BEcourse design, and the class hour distribution between language courses andbusiness courses should be further adjusted.
(3) The survey shows that all basic language competences are of equal importancein workplaces. Apart from language competences, the following competencesare needed from viewpoints of job-experienced personnel whose job is relatedwith business and trade: interpersonal communication skills, adept businessoperation skills (offering, counter-offering, negotiation and demandingcompensation), deep understanding of professional business knowledge(finance, insurance, corporation management) and international businessculture.
(4) In terms of requirements from employment units, certificates whichdemonstrate appliers' language competence are necessities for one aspect. Foranother aspect, the following knowledge and qualifications are listed in JobRequirements as well: specified BE knowledge and skills, basic knowledgeand skills of computer software, knowledge of foreign business culture andcustoms, good interpersonal communication skills, innovation ability, researchability, logical analyzing ability, positive working attitude, good teamworkspirit, good personalities and social etiquette etc.
(5) Competences needed in target situations and requirements of employment unitsare comparatively practical and in variety. In this sense, the current coursedesign of BE in SWUFE have much space to be improved to meet society'sneeds. Besides, cultivation of comprehensive qualifications' demanded byemployments units are such a long process that overall consideration shouldbe taken for course designers to satisfy society's need to upmost.
