4.1.1 Difficulties in Lexical Translation
Vocabulary goes through the whole process of translation, and the composition of awhole text is always inseparable from the choice of vocabulary. From the beginning ofreading the original text to the process of translation, as well as the subsequent work ofmodifying the translation, in the whole process, it is always inseparable from the choice ofvocabulary.
The translator finds that there are a lot of words easy to get the literal meaning buthard to transmit into Chinese in the original text. That is to say ,how to make the meaningequivalent is a difficulty. According to the three principles of Skopos theory, the choice ofwords in the translation should be faithful to the original text as well as suitable for theexpression of the target language. In the process of translation, the author adopts differenttranslation methods according to the context, so that the translation is faithful to theoriginal and easy for the readers to understand.

Chapter FiveConclusion
5.1 Findings
Firstly, the translator adopts the method of transliteration. The translation material is amemoir. The writer tells about the people and things she has experienced in her daily life. The writer has six brothers and sisters, so there will inevitably be a large number of namesand places in the memoir. The translator tries her best to avoid the use of strangeChinese characters to make the readers confused in reading. For example, “Princess” and“Buck’s peak” are translated into “princess mountain” and “Buck peak” by transliteration. There is also the transliteration of “Maria” in the original text. As a girl’s name, “Maria” istranslated into “玛丽亚”, this translation is more appropriate.
Secondly, the translation of conversations combining with the person’s characteristics. The original text is about Tara’s family life, which is inseparable from a large number ofdaily conversations. Dialogue is a natural and casual way of communication. In suchcommunication, it is basically colloquial vocabulary, so the translator pays special attentionto the conversion of spoken English and Chinese in the process of translation. For example,“I wouldn’t like it,” I said, “how do you know,” she barked, “you ain’t never tried it.”When translating, the translator pays more attention to the age, tone and mood of thespeaker to translate the colloquial words incisively and vividly. Here the translatortranslates into“我并不想去!” “你怎么知道’’, 她吼叫道, “你都没去过”. It is not only toachieve the equivalence between mea本论文由英语论文网提供整理,提供论文代写,英语论文代写,代写论文,代写英语论文,代写留学生论文,代写英文论文,留学生论文代写相关核心关键词搜索。
